County-Wide Crusade

by Paula Wagnon on June 3, 2012

Over the past several months Keith and I have had the privilege and honor to work with many wonderful people who love the Lord and His word. We were blessed with the opportunity to be a part of the steering committee for the Oglethorpe County Crusade, Making His Name Known 2012, and what a wonderful blessing it has been!!

If you have had reason to travel east on Georgia highway 78 through Clarke and Oglethorpe counties lately, you have probably seen the large billboard announcing the Crusade. Standing proud just inside the Oglethorpe County line, red and blue letters jump out against a white background to boldly proclaim that something wonderful is happening in Oglethorpe County.

God planted a seed in the hearts of His people; a passion to spread the gospel, to preach the word, to tell others about the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to bring the lost to know Him. God is working a mighty movement here in our county. How amazing it has been to watch our Lord as He has nurtured that seed and caused it to grow into the reality of this crusade!

We have been blessed to witness God working in every aspect of the crusade.  He has opened doors that would normally be closed, sent workers where there were none, rained down funding in such incredible abundance that you know it could have only come from the Lord, and provided His people with a passion to pray that, in all areas concerning the crusade, His will would be done.

An official website was created to keep the information available concerning the leadership, dates, how to get involved, and various events concerning the crusade. You can visit the website at www.makinghisnameknown2012.com.  There is also an event page on Facebook, as well as a prayer group called “Prayer Warriors for Jesus” on Facebook for any who would like to join.

The county wide crusade/revival will begin tonight; Sunday June3rd at 7:00 p.m.at the Patriot Stadium on highway 78 just east of Crawford. It will continue nightly at 7:00 p.m. through Wednesday June 6th, as the Lord directs. There will be a handicap parking and seating area. Water and hand fans will be provided for comfort, as this is an outside event. Care packages have been made to be given to children nine years of age and under. There are plans for a youth service just after the regular service each night, and a Hispanic service beginning at 6:00 each night. Everyone is invited to attend, and be sure to bring a friend!

This has been an awesome journey for me, and I feel very blessed to have been able to be a part of it!  And now it is but hours away; what excitement is in the air as the final moments slip away, and this long awaited event unfolds!! Come join us and see the mighty work God is doing in Oglethorpe County!!
