Adapting to Change

snowy daffodilsDear Valued Customer,

As you may know, Buds ‘n Bows Flower Shop has been for sale for the past year. In November 2014, we published an article on our blog, which explains our decision to sell; you can read that article here.

In July of this year, we had a turn of events in our lives which helped us to better understand the reason God has been telling us to sell.  You may have heard that Keith’s father, Bob Wagnon, went missing for 26 hours on July 14, 2015.  By God’s Grace, he was found and returned to us, safe, and as sound as possible in his condition.

Dementia is a cruel and ugly symptom of many cruel and ugly diseases.  Mr. Wagnon has one of those cruel diseases, known as Alzheimer’s, and we have become his primary caregivers.  This is a very important, time demanding task, and one which cannot be easily undertaken alongside of a full time business such as the flower shop. I have tried for the past five and a half months to do so, but have found it difficult to provide the time and attention to everyone that I feel they deserve.

At this time, we have no intention of closing the business, and are still offering it for sale; we feel our county needs what it has to offer.  However, we also feel that the business needs an owner who can commit more time to it than we can at this stage in our lives.  With this in mind, we have decided to try a little different approach until The Lord sends the right person to be the new owner.

Due to his condition, it is necessary for someone to be at home with Mr. Wagnon at all times. Beginning January 1, 2016, we will no longer keep regular walk-in hours. We have always enjoyed your walk-in visits to our shop, and would like to continue enjoying them. However, we must now ask that you please schedule these visits 1-2 hours in advance.

We have forwarded the shop’s telephone to my cell phone, so we are still able to serve you. If I am unable to answer your call, please leave a voicemail with your number and I will be happy to return your call as soon as possible. In this way, we can offer you the best option to meet your floral and gift needs, while still providing my father-in-law the care he requires.

For your convenience, we have now opened an online shopping source through our Buds ‘n Bows Flower Shop Esty store.  Go to and type BudsnBowsFlowerShop in the search bar to find us.

We appreciate your support and patronage through the years, as well as your understanding during this challenging time.  We will do our very best to continue to give you the standard of service you have come to expect with Buds ‘n Bows Flower Shop for as long as the Lord ordains.  Thank you again for your friendship and support.

Sincerely,ice lake
